I was born in Vilnius, I studied at A. Vienuolis secondary school, where I started my career as a ceramicist in the school's ceramics studio.
I studied construction work organization and economics at Vilnius Gediminas technical university. During my studies, I attended an evening art school. After graduating, I worked at the Vilnius House Building Combine, the Vilnius Architectural Monuments Restoration Trust, and the Vilnius Combine "Dailė". While working at "Dailė", I learned about the method of firing black ceramics.
I was enchanted by the magic of this pottery and I started making these types of firings myself in the homestead.
In 1986 I became a member of the Union of Folk Artists. I participated in many international and republican ceramics exhibitions held in Lithuania, Poland, Denmark, Holland, South Korea and other countries of the world.
I organized 12 personal exhibitions in Lithuania and one at the Lithuanian Embassy in Helsinki.
For the preservation of black ceramics and the dissemination of this experience in 1995, with my colleagues, we founded the Black Ceramics Centre, which in 1999 became a member of the International Academy of Ceramics, and in 2000 the centre was given the name of a UNESCO club.
1999-2000 I was awarded the state prize for art and culture. In 2005 I was granted the status of artist, in 2010 the national heritage master certificate.
In 2022 I was awarded a one-year creative scholarship by the Cultural Council.
My creative works have been purchased by the National Museum of Lithuania, the World Organizational Committee for Ceramic Works WOCEK (South Korea) and private collectors.
